Transition Services has four main areas of focus:

1. Work with local school districts to educate teachers, school staff and families/students about DDSN and effective transition practices to ensure students leave school prepared for the adult world.

2. Work with local schools and state agency partners to build capacity that ensures students are integrated in their communities and support employment as the first and preferred post-school option for students regardless of their disability.

3. Facilitate the partnership between DDSN and school districts across the state so that eligible students are linked to DDSN resources at the earliest opportunity.

4. Work with school districts to offer specialized training programs to students interested in careers in disability-related services, such as the DSP Training program.
